Meet The Team

Shelly is CEO of Fordham Capital Partners and founded Fordham Financial Services, Inc., the predecessor company to Fordham Capital Partners, in 2001. Shelly began his career in commercial finance with Walter E. Heller and Company and later acquired the Vertiflex Company, a manufacturer of office products and furniture which was sold in 2000. Shelly brings over 45 years of financial services and operating management experience to Fordham Capital Partners. Shelly received his BA from the University of Illinois and attended the University of Illinois College of Law.

John has an extensive background as a credit executive with over 30 years of experience in management, strategy, loan analysis and approval, and portfolio management. Before joining Fordham, John was the Chief Credit Officer at Allied Affiliated Funding, a commercial finance company that specializes in invoice factoring. John was also the Senior Credit Officer at Surge Capital and the Senior Credit Manager at Transcap Trade Finance. Prior to that, John spent 13 years at Heller Financial. At Heller, John served as the Senior Credit Officer for the factoring group and was responsible for setting and managing the portfolio strategy for an $8-billion national factoring business. John received a BA in economics from Colgate University.

Michael has broad experience working in manufacturing, distribution, and financial services. He oversees the origination and structuring of transactions for fast-growing, start-up, and distressed businesses in need of capital. His success in structuring financial solutions for a wide range of companies has enabled Fordham to become a leading provider of capital to growing businesses. Michael is a member of the Commercial Finance Association and the Turnaround Management Association. He received a BA in political science from Ithaca College.

Brian has a solid background in credit underwriting and loan servicing. Before joining Fordham, he was a loan servicing specialist at Baxter Credit Union, a $1.8B credit union that provides commercial, mortgage, retail banking, and investment services. He was responsible for adjusting parameters within the loan setup, handling credit reporting disputes, and securing title verification. Prior to that, he was an Appraisal Reviewer and underwriter for Interbank Mortgage Company. Brian is responsible for portfolio management, underwriting, and daily administration. Brian received his BS in Mathematics at Michigan State University with a Specialization in Actuarial Science.
